Dugbo is the Kono Goddess of the earth. The Kono of Sierra Leone believe that she is the wife of Yataa, God of the earth. It is Dugbo’s responsibility to ensure the fertility of the earth and the abundance of plants. In turn, the people are responsible for keeping Dugbo happy by living good and honest lives, honoring the earth in all that they do.
